Moral Monday: Standing Against Deadly Policy Violence

10AM – 1PM (local time zones)

Across the nation, fusion coalitions of impacted people, faith leaders, and moral activists will nonviolently gather at Congressional and state legislator offices in dozens of states to hold prophetic eulogies for all of those who have or will die as a result of policy violence. The Big Bad Deadly Bill passed by Congress earlier this year will allow 51,000 people to die next year due to lack of healthcare access alone.

  • We demand medicaid expansion subsidies are extended so folks don’t lose healthcare!
  • We demand overturning cuts to SNAP benefits, which millions of people depend on!
  • ICE agents must stop illegal and immoral deportations!

Moral Monday gatherings will take place in AL, AZ, AR, CT, DE, IN, KY, MS, MO, NE, NJ, NC, OH, SC, TN, TX, VT, VA, WV. Bishop Barber will attend the flagship gathering in NC, which will be livestreamed on on our livestream page.

Founded in 2013 in North Carolina by Bishop William J. Barber, II, President & Sr. Lecturer of Repairers of the Breach, Moral Mondays is a protest movement that centers on impacted people, people of faith, and moral leaders who hold elected leaders and the government accountable for enacting a moral agenda that responds to the urgent needs of the poor.

Today, Moral Mondays has grown nationally with state-based movements of impacted people, diverse faith leaders, and other moral activists who are organizing and holding their state leaders accountable to advancing moral public policies locally.
