undreds of Poor People’s Campaign leaders from over 30 states will join together on Capitol Hill June 19-21 to shift the nation’s attention to the reality of poverty in the country, highlight poverty as an American death sentence and demand action to end murder by public policy.

At the invitation of the White House, faith and moral leader Bishop William J. Barber II will attend a program Tuesday to mark the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act.

Why has our government abandoned us? That’s what poor and low-wealth people asked members of Congress during a briefing Wednesday on issues that included poverty, immigrant and Indigenous rights, ecological devastation, the denial of health care and militarism.
